Los Angeles Marathon in Beverly Hills Sunday, March 21, 2010 (3/4/2010)
For the first time in marathon history, more than 20,000 runners will race through Beverly Hills – passing City Hall and traveling along Rodeo Drive. Nicknamed “Stadium to the Sea,” the marathon begins at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles and passes through West Hollywood and Beverly Hills before ending near the Santa Monica Pier.
Kindergarten and New Resident Pre-enrollment will begin on February 1, 2010 (1/29/2010)
Children who will be eligible to enter kindergarten or new resident enrollees at any grade level in the Beverly Hills Unified School District next fall may be pre-enrolled in the their next year’s grade level at the school within their zone commencing February 1, 2010
Beverly Hills Board of Education Unanimously Agrees to Compromise on Opportunity Permits (1/15/2010)
On January 12, 2010, the Board of Education determined that opportunity permits will not be granted for the 2010-2011 school year, with the following exceptions for students currently attending the Beverly Hills Unified School District on an opportunity permit in 2009-2010:
students on opportunity permits entering 8th grade for the 2010-11 school year and students on opportunity permits entering 10th, 11th and 12th grade for the 2010-11 school year.

H1N1 Vaccine Demand Greater Than Local, National Supply (11/12/2009)
Currently, the demand for H1N1 vaccine is outweighing local and national supply. That's why some Public Health vaccine clinics may reach capacity earlier than expected and may need to close earlier than the posted hours. If you are NOT in an H1N1 Priority Group, please wait to get vaccinated until vaccine supplies increase. More H1N1 vaccine will be available in the next several days and weeks at some chain pharmacies, private health care providers, and community clinics.

On Friday, August 7, 2009 Board President Nooshin Meshkaty, Board Vice President, Myra Lurie and Superintendent Dr. Jerry Gross conducted a telephone conference call with Los Angeles County Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Darline Robles and Project Director (for permit appeals) Mrs. Catherine Terry. The topic of their conference call focused on how the Los Angeles County Board of Education and their staffs managed conducted and ruled on appeals from parents who were seeking inter-district transfers from one County school district to another. What follow is a listing of the questions asked by the Board members and Superintendent and the answers provided by the County officials.
